Furnace Cleanings and Replacements
At the beginning of every heating season your furnace needs a thorough cleaning and inspection. This ensures that it will run properly and safely for the cold weather to come. Without a proper inspection you run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, potential gas leaks, and malfunctioning, warren out or broken parts that can leave you in the cold. Losing your heat in winter month not only puts you in harm's way but also your home. When waterlines freeze you run the risk of them expanding and bursting turning one problem into many.
Replacement
Proper maintenance will help prolong the life of your furnace to the best of your ability and annual inspections will tell you when it's time for a replacement
Sewage vent stack
I was requested to replace the garbage disposal. While on site, the owner mentioned that the bathroom sink was draining very slowly. I offered to clear the blockage using a drain snake. The main stack was severely clogged, preventing the snake from passing through, so I removed the cast iron stack and installed new PVC piping throughout. Additionally, I performed a partial renovation of the downstairs toilet area.
Clean Swap Out
An old friend of mine that's a single mother working hard to get by had asked me to check her furnace out for winter to make sure it was safe. At the time I believe she was negotiating with the owner that she as renting from to possible buy. Anyhow I put it through the paces and sure enough it had a cracked heat exchanger and was leaking carbon monoxide. being as my friend but also in a ruff spot on top of a penny-pinching owner I went ahead and saved her the headache and put it in for the cost of the furnace. What goes around comes around folks and sometimes it's just the right thing to do.
